Unique Serving Platter

My daughter just had her first birthday and of course, I went crazy buying a lot of baby party supplies at my local party store. I quickly spent way more than I had intended but everything was so cute that I couldn’t resist. When the lady at the checkout gave me my total, I almost said, “Never mind,” and walked out of the store. But I didn’t. Instead, I sent my husband back to the store to return the baby party supplies that I really didn’t need. I kept some of the things that were absolutely necessary. She needed the pink “Fun to Be One” baseball cap and she couldn’t do without the pink “Fun to Be One” matching T-shirt. She did not need the four “Baby’s First Birthday Party” signs that I bought to put on the road. Everyone attending the birthday party had been to my home before but I was so excited that the cute signs matched the paper tablecloth, that I had to add them to the baby party supplies.

My husband returned the paper tablecloth, too. I found a sturdy, plastic one at our local discount dollar store at a fraction of the price. He also returned other baby party supplies to the store, like the paper centerpiece that would have lasted about ten seconds on the table. The paper plates were returned as well. I spent nearly twenty dollars on cute little plates but I had to, they matched the road signs that we didn’t need and they matched the paper table cloth that was way overpriced.

After returning the unnecessary baby party supplies, my husband returned home with seventy dollars. I went to our local discount dollar store and found comparable items for a fraction of the cost. We used the money we saved on the baby party supplies on an actual gift for the baby, which is really more important than matching the centerpiece to the tablecloth. I did keep the thank-you cards for my guests because they are important and hopefully, they will be kept to remember the special day.

The paper plates from the dollar store did not match the tablecloth. The centerpiece was missing, but it wasn’t missed by anyone. No one mentioned that we didn’t have signs pointing them in the right direction. My daughter had a wonderful first birthday and we had plenty baby party supplies. In fact, all we really needed was the baby.

I wanted a girl so badly for some unknown reason. Fortunately when the day finally arrived, I was introduced to my little lady. My wife and I had wondered the aisles of the local baby super store a number of times before our daughter was actually born. It’s funny how many things you really have to purchase before they get here. You know you need the crib, or where will your newborn sleep? You even tend to go all out when in the baby super store. There is so much to choose from. You want to pick the best stroller, the best car seat and the best bassinet. These items are a blast to shop for.

When I first came across the baby super store, Babies R Us, I was puzzled. I had always thought there was just Toys R Us. Apparently they had expanded. This baby super store can be found in many urban areas across the nation. The cool thing these days is the accessibility. Even if you can’t locate a baby super store in your area, you can always spot one online. Pretty much and baby super store offers everything and more in cyberspace. However, the great thing is the selection. When you sort through baby super stores via the Internet, you can surely find the best deals, in addition to numerous reviews on various products. The Internet is your best place to save bucks. While you do have a plethora of products to choose from, you also have endless deals and low prices that can’t be found in retail stores.
