Avoid Aggravation & Buy Your Birthday Greeting Cards Ahead Of Time
There is a dollar store near my house that I frequent about once a month. I like to stock up on the little things every so often and save quite a bit of money in doing so. I especially like to get household necessities there never minding that they might be generic. The best thing that I have found to purchase at discount stores, is birthday greeting cards. Any kind of cards for that matter. It never hurts to have extra cards on hand for any occasion. However, birthday greeting cards are always useful to have around the house.
For some reason I have a habit of not remembering birthdays until they are only a day away. By that time it is too late to run out and buy a card and mail it. Sure, they’ll receive it but it’ll be late. I hate to be late. But, if I keep spare birthday greeting cards around I can make sure I get them hand delivered or at least postmarked immediately. I try to get birthday greeting cards that are humorous or upbeat, appropriate for any age or gender.
I can’t stand going into large stores that have aisles and aisles of greeting cards. Usually, one complete aisle is dedicated to birthday greeting cards and I never quite know where to begin. They have them for almost every relative you can name, every milestone age that people celebrate and some that touch the emotions of the recipient. I never know what exactly I want to get for someone. I end up picking up and reading dozens of cards and just putting them back. Nothing ever seems appropriate. Then, I realized that most people don’t really even read their birthday greeting cards, they simply look at who sent them and that’s just that. Why spend so much time picking out something that seems to fit someone perfectly when there are entirely too many birthday greeting cards to choose from?
A good friend of mine takes a lot of time to make her own birthday greeting cards and cards for other occasions as well. She sells them to card shops and packages them for nice little gifts for the holidays. I tend to simply stock up on generic cards. Most times a reason for giving someone a greeting card pops up unexpectedly and it can save you some time and energy when you don’t have to be running to the card shops. You’ll already be one step ahead and much more organized.
