This year for Valentine’s Day, my sweetie got me a box full of chocolate seashells. I can’t tell you how much I like those delicious spirals of confectionary delight. They send shivers down my back just thinking about them. He got these chocolate seashells from Godiva chocolate which, in my opinion, is possibly the best chocolate maker which has ever graced my mouth with it’s tender morsels of pure delight. Yum, how I love chocolate seashells.
Besides the chocolate seashells, he got me roses and took me out to the most romantic evening that you can imagine. First off, we went to this lovely little Italian restaurant. We sat outside on a little alley terrace with the early evening sky showing through above and a little candle in a basket on the table. Then we went to a walk on the beach to watch the sunset. It was one of those spectacular sunsets, all oranges and pinks and golden, filling the entire sky with a glow. I chewed on chocolate seashells as we contemplated the waves, held each others hands and kissed.
The big surprise was the early evening cruise. You might think this is strange timing for the cruise and that it might make more sense just to watch the sunset, but you’d be wrong. Instead, we got to watch the twilight darken into night. The stars came out amongst the darkness of the waves and the blackening sky. We kissed under a full moon and felt the breeze ruffle our hair. I’ll tell you, there’s nothing on earth like watching the night wind rise. It beats sunrise hands down, no matter what you say.
Finally, we drove to an adorable bed and breakfast place nearby the ocean and stayed, pampered, soaking until late in the evening in the hot tub. The next morning, the breakfast we had was delicious and adorable. Cute little croissants shaped like starfish topped with delicious homemade marmalade and whipped butter. The town it was quaint and we got to walk around, watching farmers go about their daily routine and looking at the little puffy clouds going by. We got to go hiking along the trails and to explore the local tourist attractions, which was fun if a little corny at times. And now I have the rest of the weekend to enjoy with him. I’ll tell you, I’m the luckiest girl in the world.

If you can’t decide what kind of chocolate to get for your special occasion or friend, consider a chocolate gift basket.
