We should all be gifted with 20/20 vision. Don’t you concur? I truly believe that every human being on the planet should be born with perfect eye sight and straight teeth. It only makes sense. The rest all comes pretty standard. What’s with the vision and choppers? Well, I guess we should feel lucky that both can be fixed. Teeth can be straighten and repaired, while vision can be restored in a number of ways. It all just depends on what you’re going for. Are you craving something permanent or merely a set of Fresh Look contact lens?
Back in the 80s it was all about the specs. When I was in elementary school, every child that couldn’t see well enough, would wear glasses regularly. It was the norm so to speak. Then when the 90s drew near, everything began to change. Folks started trading in their burdensome eye glasses for a pair of Fresh Look contact lens. These offered a new array of possibilities. Although you did have to wear them in your eye, they provided the user with 20/20 vision and a new hue of iris. Everyone was wanting to change their eye color. Not to mention the fact that there was no more need for endless head turning. Peripheral vision was back. This is a major advantage with the Fresh Look contact lens products and any contacts for that matter.
Today things are changing rapidly once again. The once popular Fresh Look contact lens products are fading into the background a bit, while Lasik eye surgery is becoming more and more prominent and desired by the vision impaired. Finally we can have 20/20 vision like we were just born again. No eye glasses or Fresh Look contact lens needed. The lens of the eye is surgically cleaned and you’re good to go. I am currently considering this procedure simply because it would be phenomenal to have 20/20 vision. The Fresh Look contact lens on the other hand will remain for now, as the specs do. There will always be a few out there that prefer them over the new age technology. Personally, I’ll just save the red ones for Halloween.
Getting contact lenses was one of the best things that I have ever done for myself. Although I wasn’t keen on the idea of sticking my fingers in my eyes several times a day, I very quickly adapted and fell in love with having them. I had never liked wearing my glasses. I’d wear them for driving, simply because I needed them. But once I exited my car, I left them behind. The world was a bit blurry to me for many, many years. Suddenly, I had contacts and the world looked completely different. I was noticing things about the world that I’d never noticed before. I loved it.
After a year of wearing contacts, I wanted to see what life would be like with different colored eyes. I had always had dull green eyes. I wanted to know what it would be like to see the world with bright blue eyes. And so, with that desire in mind, I looked into getting colored contacts. Sure, they were a bit more expensive and my insurance would not pay for any form of colored contacts. I decided to try it, just for the heck of it. After ordering them, a week later, I was looking at a new person in the mirror. I was looking at the world from behind blue eyes now and I loved it. I had chosen a very bright pair of colored contacts, but they looked very real as well. It didn’t take people very long to notice my drastic change and everyone commented on how wonderful this new look was. My boyfriend though, said that he would miss staring into my green eyes, though he knew that this was not a permanent change.
Getting colored contacts was sort of a craze for a while. People were changing their eye colors daily for a while. Companies were making some very unique colored contacts as well that some people absolutely loved. I waited on a customer one time, who had red colored contacts in her eyes. It was entirely too creepy and I found myself not even wanting to look at her. I’ve seen some people get black colored contacts as well which is still very strange, in my opinion. But, what makes us all different is our choices and sense of self that we all have. If someone wants to wear colored contacts that make them look very different, then more power to them. Just don’t get offended when I refuse to make eye contact with you.
